Plein Air Artist Cynthia Riordan of California visited this spot and provides the following information.
Last Sept, we did a road trip through Idaho. There is one pristine location along the middle
fork of Clearwater River, also called Lochsa River, since it runs
through the Nez Pearce Reservation. The site is outside Grangeville, ID
along Highway 13 before you get to Lowell. It is the first rest
stop/park you come to along this extremely beautiful and forested road.
There are few cars and you feel alone with nature. The stop has two
picnic tables and a bathroom. We stopped around 10:00 AM and were there
a couple of hours. Here is a photo of the location, as well as the painting I did that morning.
This page is still under construction - more Idaho painting sites will be coming soon, so visit us again.
