Our initial entry is the Ocala area in Central Florida. The Ocala area is home to beautiful horse farms, The Silver River and Ocala National Forest. Ocala - Silver River State ParkSilver River State Park is located east of Ocala, one mile south of State Route 40 on State Route 35. Dozens of turquoise colored springs and miles of beautiful trails offer many great painting sites. For overnight stays, there is a full campground and 10 luxury cabins - fun for a plein air group painting retreat maybe.Sholom Park - Ocala Many different trails offer varied views of ponds, azaleas and formal gardens. A great place to paint flowers and water reflections. The Sholom Park Pond in particular is a great painting spot with a deck overlook. Water lilies and many different water plants provide that Monet motif we all love so much. Koi fish swim in the tranquille clear waters that offer fantastic reflections of tall trees and sky.
